Bose Panaray 802 Series IV + MB4 Bass Module + Bose SP-24 Sound Processor

A legendary professional Bose sound system, combining exceptional clarity, wide sound dispersion, powerful bass, and precision digital sound processing.

The Bose Panaray 802 Series IV is an iconic professional loudspeaker designed to deliver impressive sound coverage, exceptional vocal intelligibility, and reliable performance in demanding environments. Continuing the legacy of the original Bose 802 introduced in 1978, the Series IV features eight proprietary 4.5-inch full-range drivers arranged in Bose’s Articulated Array configuration. Unlike conventional speakers that rely on separate woofers and tweeters, the 802 uses multiple full-range drivers to reproduce music across a remarkably wide listening area. Its 120° horizontal and 100° vertical dispersion makes it particularly effective for cafés, restaurants, lounges, live music venues, event spaces, and larger listening rooms where consistent sound coverage is essential.

Engineered for professional applications, each Bose 802 Series IV features a frequency range of 52Hz–15kHz, 8-ohm nominal impedance, approximately 92dB sensitivity, and up to 300 watts of long-term power handling under AES testing conditions. Capable of producing up to 123dB peak SPL at one metre, these speakers offer considerable output from a relatively compact enclosure. Their rugged, mineral-reinforced construction, weather-resistant IP55 rating, and multiple mounting options further demonstrate Bose’s emphasis on durability and versatility. The absence of a conventional tweeter and passive multiway crossover also contributes to the distinctive design and long-established reputation of the 802 series.

Complementing the main speakers is the Bose Panaray MB4 Modular Bass Loudspeaker, a purpose-built professional bass system featuring four high-excursion 5.25-inch low-frequency drivers. Despite its relatively compact footprint, the MB4 is engineered to reproduce bass frequencies down to 35Hz, with a rated frequency response of 45Hz–310Hz (±3dB). It offers 200 watts of continuous power handling, 8-ohm impedance, and a maximum calculated output of 116dB peak SPL. Its multiple-driver configuration is designed to provide responsive, controlled bass reproduction, adding depth, weight, and impact to music without requiring an oversized conventional subwoofer enclosure.

The MB4 makes an excellent complement to the Bose 802, particularly for listeners who appreciate a fuller musical presentation. With suitable amplification and crossover settings, the combination can deliver convincing bass lines, energetic percussion, substantial low-frequency presence, and clear vocals. Whether playing jazz, funk, classic rock, electronic music, or live recordings, this arrangement is designed to combine the expansive sound coverage of the 802 with the additional bass authority of the MB4.

Completing the system is the Bose SP-24 Sound Processor, a dedicated digital loudspeaker management unit designed to optimize compatible Bose professional speaker systems. Unlike an ordinary graphic equalizer, the SP-24 provides loudspeaker-specific processing, equalization, crossover management, and signal protection functions. These capabilities are especially important for the Bose 802, which requires appropriate active equalization to achieve its intended frequency balance. When correctly configured with compatible presets and suitable amplification, the processor helps integrate the main loudspeakers and bass modules into a more balanced, cohesive system.

The result is a highly capable professional audio combination with the flexibility to handle both music listening and sound reinforcement. The Bose 802 Series IV provides wide, room-filling sound, the MB4 reinforces the lower frequencies, and the SP-24 manages the signal for optimized system performance. This combination is particularly appealing for music-focused cafés, boutique hospitality venues, lounges, event spaces, and enthusiasts seeking the distinctive presentation of Bose’s professional loudspeaker systems.
