Dynatron Lenco Goldring L78 Vintage Turntable 4 kg Solid Platter with Built in Amplifier 15w UK Made

RM3,500.00

The Goldring-Lenco L78 was one of the finest idler-drive turntables of the 1970s and represented the culmination of Lenco’s heavy-platter design philosophy. Manufactured in Switzerland and distributed in the UK under the Goldring name, the L78 features a massive 4 kg dynamically balanced platter, a robust four-pole motor, and Lenco’s infinitely variable speed control covering 16, 33, 45, and 78 rpm. Unlike the more common L75, the L78 incorporates an automatic end-of-record shutoff mechanism and a revised tonearm with anti-skating adjustment. The deck is renowned for its tremendous torque, rhythmic drive, and exceptional speed stability, qualities that have made it highly sought after by vinyl enthusiasts and DIY restorers.

Paired with a Dynatron 15-watt amplifier, the L78 forms a classic British system that emphasizes musicality over outright power. Although 15 watts may appear modest by modern standards, vintage Dynatron amplifiers are known for their smooth tonal balance and refined midrange. When matched with efficient loudspeakers such as vintage Wharfedales, Goodmans, Tannoys, or Celestions, the combination is capable of producing a surprisingly rich and engaging sound. The L78’s lively and dynamic presentation complements the warm, relaxed character of these amplifiers, resulting in a system that excels with jazz, classical music, vocals, and acoustic recordings.
